Three shiny rolls, three different contexts
| Where | Base shiny roll | What you must do |
|---|---|---|
| Wild enemy | 1 / 4096 | Defeat the shiny enemy; seeing it is not a capture. |
| Rift legendary | 1 / 512 | Defeat the shiny legendary within the arena time limit. |
| Gacha result | 1 / 100 | Pull from a banner; sprite and duplicate checks also apply. |
Does 1 in 512 guarantee a shiny after 512 rifts?
No. This is a random roll for each eligible legendary selection, not a shiny pity counter or a guarantee after that many attempts.
Can a normal legendary victory unlock its shiny?
No. Defeating an ordinary variant is not a shiny capture. Check the visible shiny variant and the collection result.
Why does gacha say 1 in 100 rather than a particular Pokémon’s shiny chance?
The banner first determines a species and rarity, then checks sprite availability and duplicate handling. The base shiny roll is not the probability of a specific final species.

Watch for the wild marker
A shiny enemy sparkles and is marked toward the edge of the screen. Move toward it only when you can survive the surrounding enemies. Defeating the shiny grants the corresponding collection variant. A sighting alone is not a capture.
Inspect the collection
After obtaining a shiny, open the collection and select its shiny variant where available. A normal copy and its shiny appearance are distinct collection flags; changing appearance is not a new move pool.
Know what gacha can do
Gacha checks whether the selected Pokémon has a shiny sprite. Already-owned shinies are handled with a search for missing shiny species in the same rarity pool. The final result therefore depends on the banner and your collection.
Protect local progress
Here, collection ownership stays in the current browser and origin. A shiny earned on the author’s site does not appear on this domain automatically. Clearing site data removes the local collection; exported wiki builds are not a game-save backup.
Common mistakes & limits
- The 1/100 gacha roll is not the wild encounter rate.
- The wiki’s favorite button does not grant ownership inside the game.
- A different browser or device has different local progress.
